Temple of Blessings

Mommas have you ever greeted company at your house with “excuse the mess” or the one I use is, “my house is a mess”.

We’ve got to stop doing it NOW!

Sure our homes may be unorganized or not as neat as it usually is, but it is not a mess.

Our homes are the temples for the family that God has blessed us to raise.

I just had a “come to Jesus meeting” about my house and my eyes were opened!

Let me help you see beyond the “mess” in front of you, by telling you what I see in front of me.

Kitchen needs to be cleaned. The dishes from the night before have been washed, dried, and put away, so why is the sink filled with more dirty dishes? My family is blessed to go to the cabinets or fridge and get anything to eat they want. We’re not living day to day without food or drink.

Laundry piled up? My family has been blessed with clothes. Blessed enough that I don’t have to wash them every day. Shoot some of us (my kids) are blessed enough they can wear a different outfit everyday of the month.

Or how the bathroom looks like a wet monsoon came through. Wet towels and wash rags hanging in the bathroom, but we have running water. Water that can be cold or hot to our desire to wash in or to brush our teeth. Truly a blessing right?

Kids’ bedrooms need picking up? I am blessed to have living, breathing kids that can leave toys on the floor and clothes under the bed. Some adults don’t get a chance at this life or even worse some have it stripped away from them.

Floors need sweeping, moping, and vacuuming? It’s proof that God allowed people to pass through my home.

How I recall my husband saying, “how in the world can one house have so much trash'” because the trash can always need emptying. It’s simply because we live!

“Messy homes” are blessings in disguise. It’s where your life is lived.

One day, years from now the dishes will stay cleaned. The laundry will stay put away. The trash can won’t be near as full. The kids’ rooms will be empty. The kitchen will be spotless. The bathroom will stay dry. The floors won’t be dirty. The house will stay neat and tidy. You will sit down with time on your hands, time that you used before to clean and for that moment you will wish it all back with every memory that you grasped from what you thought was a MESS!

Mommas your “messy house” is your temple of blessings❤
