As I start the first blog of the year off. Id like to give yall a run down over the last few years to show the beginning and to end with where I am now with life.
On July 22, 2015 my “normal” family of four had to adjust to a life that was not so normal for them. Long story short which most of you know, on this day Derek was in a logging accident. He suffered from a severe traumatic brain injury. After 11.5 months of healing, rehab, complications, tons of surgeries, in June of 2016 Derek left his earthly home to find rest in Jesus’ arms. Because of his testimony he left, i have peace with it.
I was left a widow with two small kids. I was struggling mentally and physically and so was my kids. To this day we still struggle. One day i found enough strength to finally start picking up the pieces. Piece by piece we begin to get our lives back even though we were missing one, we figured out how to get by.
I found love again by the name of Eugene. He was amazing with my kids and he loved us. We got pregnant and had a son on November 10, 2017. We named him Craven. The following month a few days after Christmas I once got more dreaded news from a doctor. We found out my husband had cancer. My world once again started crumbling. We tackled chemotherapy and radiation. He took it like a champ. On June 26, 2018 we became Mr. And Mrs. Smith. We were taking life one day at a time. Then just a few weeks ago right before Christmas we get the news that his cancer is back and bigger.
With dealing with that news and all three of the kids being sick with the winter colds and flu, i have been on my mends.
BUT I AM STRONGER THAN I’VE EVER BEEN!
